“New face of Italian Disco”: this definition around Jolly Mare has been circulating abroad for some time now. Considering the wealth of Italo Disco heritage and absolute cult credit that enjoys outside the Italian borders, it is certainly a flattering definition. At the same time, however, it is reductive and inaccurate: because if it is true that in his music Jolly Mare incorporates various elements taken from the 80s in dance key (electro and surroundings, in the first place), it is equally true that he manages to ride in a very personal way territories much broader musicals, always finding a balance that in words is inexplicable while in the facts (and in dancefloor) it is absolutely perfect and centered.
